·58,124 GD Assessments were lodged up to the end of July, up from 44,479 at end of June. The 13,645 GD Assessments in July were similar to the number in June (13,517). 

·There were 419 Green Deal Plans in the system for individual properties as at the end of July, compared to 306 at the end of June. Of these, 286 were ‘new’ Green Deal Plans, 132 had moved to ‘pending’ and one was ‘live’.

·7,461 Cashback vouchers had been issued to end of July. Of these, 4,256 Cashback vouchers had been paid (following installation of measures) up to the end of July with a value of £1,162,386 (Chart 3). The majority of vouchers paid to date were in June and virtually all have been for boiler replacements. 

·Provisional figures, which are subject to further checks by Ofgem, show there were 149,681 measures installed under ECO up to the end of June (measures data takes longer to report and there is therefore an additional lag of one month). The number of measures installed in June (33,934) was similar to the number installed in May.

The majority of all measures installed under ECO were for loft insulation (45 per cent of all ECO measures), cavity wall insulation (33 per cent) and boiler upgrades (18 per cent).

·£175 million worth of contracts had been let through ECO brokerage up to end of July compared to £145 million at the end of June

 ·79 Green Deal Providers had been authorised up to the end of July. 248 GD Assessor Organisations and the 2,129 GD Advisors they employ had been accredited up to the end of July.

Hot water saving devices provided in the green deal include showerheads and taps are included in the Green Deal List of Measures. Types of Showerheads

Low-flow/aerated showerheads

The two main types of water-saving shower-heads are low-flow and aerated. An aerated shower head appears to deliver a higher flow than it actually does, providing the user with the experience of a power shower but with significantly less water use. Low-flow showerheads work by restricting the volume of water flowing through the showerhead. A wide range of showerheads is currently available to reduce water usage.

Not all of the devices listed are compatible, contact a specialist for advice for some types of electric showers and monsoon showers (a rain-head, high-powered shower).

How Do They Work?

Tap aerators/flow-restrictors

A tap insert can either aerate or restrict the flow of water from the tap without reducing water pressure. A tap aerator is a simple and inexpensive way to reduce flow rates for both kitchen sink and bathroom basin taps. Aerators come in a number of sizes and varying flow rates and are available to fit most taps.

In-line aerators/flow-limiting devices for showers: These are screwed between the showerhead and the hose, to reduce flow or introduce air into the water stream to give an aerated flow.
